Live for Speed は、Scawen Roberts (ゲームエンジン)、Eric Bailey (サーキットと車)、Victor van Vlaardingen (音楽、Webサイト、販売) によって開発されているオンラインレーシングシミュレーターです。LFSの主な特徴は、そのリアルな物理エンジンと最大40人のプレイヤーとプレイできるマルチプレイモードです。

このゲームは 公式Webサイト でのみ販売されています。他の店などで購入できないのは、開発者たちがパブリッシャーをつけず、独立していたいと望んでいるためです。このため、彼らの望む機能をゲームに追加することができ、マネージャーなどの意見によってゲームのコンテンツを意図しない形で変更する必要がなくなっています。

物理エンジン

  • Sometime in 1999: Working on Lionhead's Black & White, Scawen starts to write a small stunt simulator with mouse steering in his free time
  • Spring 2001: After the release of Black & White, Scawen and Eric leave Lionhead to work fulltime on LFS
